What do I need to take the Competency Assessment?

40 Hour Coursework Certificate
Background Check within 180 days (We do not accept online background checks.)
Copy of your current Drivers License
Professionalism! Yes, we hope everyone understands that this is to prepare you for a professional certification. You will also be meeting a client online, so you will need to practice ethics and maintain a friendly demeanor.

What is a 40 hour certificate?

This is the certificate you are given at the end of completing your 40 hour course.
The certificate must be signed by the responsible certificant who provided the course.
The course must have been completed within 180 days and no less than 5 days.

Where can I obtain a background check?

If you live in Florida, you will need to get a Level 2 Background Check at a local live scan vendor near you. For the ORI and OCA number, please email LexiMark@cegabh.com
If you live outside of Florida, you will need to obtain a background check for personal use. Please email LexiMark@cegabh.com for more info.

How does the process work?

The assessment is conducted LIVE via Zoom with the assistant assessor and a client from our practice. Candidates may not bring their own client.
Once we receive proof of a cleared background check with fingerprinting, age verification, & your 40 hour certificate, we will send you a scheduling email.
Then once you set your appointments we send you a packet with step-by-step instructions on how to complete each task. This is allowed to be used throughout your assessment.
The client tasks are separated and take less than 10 minutes to complete. We provide the client from our practice.
The role-play & interview tasks take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to complete. It really depends on your preparedness.
